I write what I feel…

I am…

in the pounding

of your heart,

the pitter-patter

of clatter-ing feet,

the hustle and bustle

in the street;

I am…

in the tears you weep,

the fears you feel,

the laughter and the joy,

the Love of Life;

I am…

there in sickness

and in health,

in poverty

and in wealth;

I am…

and for ever…

What Right

What right have we

To be self-satisfied?

Do we really want our offspring

To be mirrors of ourselves?

Is it good enough for them ~

The best of us, or the worst of us?

We train our children to think

IN the box ~ or not to think at all!

Don’t rock the boat!

No freedom of thought ~

What a blunder ~

Farting against thunder!

Education is just masturbation

Stroking your ego for a job not done.

Whispering Voices

Whispering voices in the breeze,
Rustling leaves and weaving trees,
Hush, hush, we don’t want to wake
The softly slumbering rock-a-bye babe.

Tinkling glass chimes ripple the air,
Adding a lightness, a brightness
As soft as a prayer.
Let the little one sleep without a care.

Moving House

Packing, sorting, exhausting, draining

Boring, chore-ing, but sometimes inspiring,

Uncovering, discovering long-lost treasure,

Teaching me not to be a hoarder

Or a collector (as I like to think)!

Stones and shells in a container

Opened once in a while to caress their beauty

And be transported back in time…

A glance through the window at the world outside

Reminds me that it doesn’t stand still;

I have to relish the rush of life

And also enjoy the blush of life

Wallpapering my window in its rosy light.

The Storm

The Storm

The Storm

The Storm

Thor growls among dark clouds

And lightning strikes like a snake,

Aggressively defensive.

There is no sun, he’s still abed

Where he’s stayed past months

~ tho’ in my head.

Light has departed from my life ~

Sucked dry, I have naught left to give;

Hard to expel the taste

Of fear, of hate, of dread,

But You are here, at last I see the end,

The winds of change begin to blow,

The sun will once more rule the skies

And burn away the hurt and lies

And all that love and truth despise.

No Words…

No words can tell the joy I feel

Saved from the deepest despair

You answered my heartfelt prayer

My faith was strong, but You took so long

Though I knew that Your time is not mine

And You would come through in the end

I thank You, Father, for saving me from misery

For keeping me under Your wing

So that I can continue to sing my words to the world

And remain untainted by my suffering

Renewed in Your strength, Your power

I will find joy in Your service for ever

Dream Catcher

Disappearing like quick-silver

Just out of reach

Sleeping, waking, always escaping

As quick as a wink, before you can blink

Fluid, flowing into the ether

Nothing to hold, were I so bold as to try

Just an impression, an inkling, a notion

But oh for a potion to clasp it, to grasp it

Before it dissolves in the mists of time

The Colour of Light

The blackest black absorbs the light

Yet the light pierces the dark as a spear

Can puncture the flesh of man;

Contradiction, oxymoron, paradox,

Darkness is the shroud of evil

And light the revelation of purity ~~

What simplicity… could it be…?

A Few Greedy Men

Earth is shaped by the elements

With all that man requires:

Food for his body and beauty for his soul;

But power is what he most desires ~~

Untold wealth at the expense of health.

Earth’s delicately balanced symbioses

Lie on the paths of man’s DEstruction

Where every one will suffer

For lack of CONstruction.

Will FRACk be the last straw on the camel’s back?

By the way, I’m not at all happy with the title – any suggestions?
