.
What right have we
To be self-satisfied?
Do we really want our offspring
To be mirrors of ourselves?
Is it good enough for them ~
The best of us, or the worst of us?
We train our children to think
IN the box ~ or not to think at all!
Don’t rock the boat!
No freedom of thought ~
What a blunder ~
Farting against thunder!
Education is just masturbation
Stroking your ego for a job not done.

preach it….we def train kids not to think….or we let them think too much…i think there is a middle ground we often miss….we have to train them to think for themselves as well…and how that looks…

I think education has definitely gone downhill, Brian. I think it boils down to quantity over quality and this shouldn’t be the case if the internet is used effectively.

We should be helping them to learn how to look at all sides

Of course, local education is progressively failing to teach any thought whatsoever, whether inside or outside the box.

That’s because the teachers in the outlying areas are (largely) untrained and inexperienced .

STILL A LOT TO LEARN
After years in its jails
I suggest that education
Be no longer obligatory
(Thinking through why
A refusal of compliance
Invites legal penalties
Raises some less than
Altogether comfortable
Questions, by the way)
There’d still be schools
But children expected
Not to go unless they
Found it worthwhile
Useful, even – God
Forbid – enjoyable
And teachers’ salaries
Based on attendance
True pupil power at last
