I write what I feel…

A New Life

I’ve been drifting through life

Like the bubbles on my screen

I am the constant while life goes by,

But enough, no more ~

Wake up, participate,

Take life by the scruff

Don’t just spectate!

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

  1. Take life by the scruff … what a great ideal.

  2. Lovely, very Rumi-like!

    • Thanks for the comment, John. I looked up ‘Rumi’ and what a wonderful find! What a wonderful mind! Thanks for bringing him to my notice. I could not hope to compare, but am deeply flattered.

  3. Yay! Bin the TV and join the sports club, is the idea!

  4. going with the flow is not bad…but taken to the extreme life will pass you by and you will be left wondering in the end what happened…

    • I think I live in the moment (more than I used to do) not in the future nor in the past. Also the fear of another ‘accident’ has receded somewhat and I’m trying to do all the right things.

  5. If we lose our “in order to …” we’ve come to a pretty pass indeed.

  6. You’re sounding very upbeat, adee. 🙂

  7. I believe what you are saying is; don’t let your “get up and go” get up and go!

  8. Glad to read that you are much more mobile, Adee – that is good news.

  9. Very good news, Bb! And I’m working hard to keep fit and get stronger.
