New Year

.

Out with the old and in with the new

As 2014 comes into view;

Forget the existence of all our mistakes,

Let the past be gone and make a clean break.

But perhaps that’s not quite the way to go ~~

What better way to polish one’s skill

Than to learn from our lives as we travel uphill,

Climbing higher and higher t’wards God in His heaven,

To the lightness and brightness and joy ever after,

Where the air overflows with the music of laughter,

Where One is all and all is One

And we are united with Father and Son.

Beauty and the Beasts

* Edited

.

The camera imitates the eye

Focusing on our surrounds,

Storing for posterity

What we see…

Beauty and the beasts ~

All magnificent to me!

One day, if we don’t take care,

Faded foto’s are all there’ll be

To remind us of what we had ~

In our wonderful world…

Gone bad.

Mass Suicide

.

Climate change:
Mass suicide
Denied.
But the proof is in the pud.

Is man committing suicide
Cutting off his own air supply?
Poisoning his food resource
At the source?

The signs are there for all to see
In biochemistry.
S-l-o-w-l-y earth’s thermostat rises
Heating his earthly home
Beyond what can be borne ~
Viability for life deprived.

Do animals attempt to show man,
By killing themselves,
A quick death is preferable to slow?

Ghost Train

.

Riding on the ghost train
Killing off my brain,
Riding on the ghost train
There and back again.

Icky sticky spider’s snare
Caught against my new-washed hair
And a pair of glowing eyeballs
Floated through the foetid air.

Riding on the ghost train
Killing off my brain,
Riding on the ghost train
There and back again.

A bloodied face looked down on me
With no eyes that I could see,
Drip, drip, drip from out the sockets,
Metallic smell from naked sprockets.

Riding on the ghost train
Killing off my brain,
Riding on the ghost train
There and back again.

Nowhere safe to stop the train,
They are out to get my brain,
Now my head aint worth a dime,
God help me save this life of mine.

Riding on the ghost train
Killing off my brain,
Riding on the ghost train
There and back again.

Aaaaaaarghhhhh…

Bumper Bash

.

Crawling like a shongololo*

Nose to tail in traffic snarl,

A to B, lands on C,

Mish-mash, car crash,

Bumper bash.

Backseat children start to cry,

‘Okay, okay, keep calm,’ say I,

‘Dry your eyes, we’re all okay,

We’ll brave the crowds another day.’

The Womanizer

.

Enraged –
Clothes flying from the cupboard
To the suitcase on the bed –

I’ve had enough!

I’m leaving!

No more!

Four little hands
Hold on to her skirt

Mummy, please don’t go!

Mummy, please don’t go!

Funny…
How history…
Repeats itself…

Madiba – A Final Farewell

Quote from Nelson Mandela

Quote from
Nelson Mandela

Madiba – A Final Farewell

.

He was just a boy,

Born in the land ‘cross the Kei,

A boy who grew into a man,

A champion of democracy.

A man who noticed inequality,

Whose conscience was stirred

And who tried to change his world.

Madiba, we thank you,

You did your very best,

You became an icon,

But you were just a man,

Loved by all ~

But only a man.
