.
I know you are loath to go
And I am sad to say farewell,
Let us enjoy our last few weeks
Of sunshine days and balmy nights,
Mozzies with their itching bites,
Coolest clothing every day,
To move unhindered along our way.
Too soon, I feel a bite of ice
In the early morning air,
So pleasant now but, as time
Moves on, βtwill change
Its nature from a nip to a gnash
Of its icy teeth to send us shivering,
Longing for the warmth so lately gone,
And we must wait through the long,
Cold months until you come again.

I hope I catch a few weeks of late summer when I get back in March. Jo’burg should still be quite mild when I come up for our grandson’s Birthday. π Lovely, nostalgic poem.

Thanks, AD. I think the turning point is the beginning of April usually. Perhaps we’ll have an Indian Summer… π

If you’d stayed in Durbs you’d still have months of it to look forward to! π

Yes, Col, but the HUMIDITY! I definitely prefer the climate up here in Joeys. The only thing I really miss is the sea. π

And I see some areas over there have had an awful winter. Never mind, Ben, the wheel is turning… π
