Haloed Moon & Moon Dogs

The Haloed Moon

A full moon shone bright,
milky white, in the sky tonight.
She sailed alone, dignified,
self-assured on her path
across the skies’ eternal plane.
A haloed moon she was,
With a pair of dogs
at her side ~
seldom seen ~
like a crownéd queen.

Face of Danger

We seldom see

danger’s face,

concealing in

his hiding place,

secreting himself

behind a veil,

waiting his chance

to cause a fall ~

take care, take care,

we’re ALMOST there…

and when he strikes

we’re so surprised,

it’s so unexpected

it’s hard to accept it.

Mornings of mist and mystery

Before the sun awakes,

Slakes his unending thirst,

Drinking the last drops of dew

And sucking dry the clouds

Hanging pregnant in the sky.

Midsummer days…

Breathless pulsating heat

Throbbing through the air,

Life-draining lethargy,

Absolutely no energy…

An artificial atmosphere

Feeding pre-cooled air

Satisfies the well-heeled,

But cold showers are best

For the rest…

You and I ~

Earth and sky ~

We can fly

Higher than high…

To the mountain peak,

To the very top,

The roof of the sky,

Drift here and there

On the draughts of air,

Dance in the blue,

Me and You on the moon…

You lift me up

On the golden rays

Of the rising sun

You take my hand,

Make sure I understand,

That faith and trust are one.

The Light

Choices ~
This or that,
Do or don’t,
Will or won’t.
Good or bad, it’s a chance we take.
Many of the choices that we make
End up being a huge mistake
As we struggle through the dark
Looking for that litte spark to show
This is the right way to go.

Forbidden signs are plain to see,
But temptations lie in wait
Just outside our garden gate,
Disguised as amusing and innocent fun,
An exciting diversion from our every day,
Before we find there’s a price to pay.

“Father, where is your light?” I cry,
“I need your light to see You by.”
And then I listen for Your reply.
In the silence of my soul I hear
Your voice so clear as You speak to me,
“I am the Light of the world,” You say.
