I write what I feel…

Winter’s on its Way

Winter creeps from west to east,

Soundless slippers on its feet,

Borne on the warm west wind

Where I feel traces of chill,

A foretaste of the dense cold air

About to descend blanket-like

Covering us, huddled together

Before the flickering fire.

Friday’s the day, so they say,

And preparations are underway…

  1. Lovely poem bringing in the winter.
Winter has just begun here in Oz, but the temperatures are still too high for a ‘normal’ winter. I’m not complaining though, it’s still better than living in the Northern Hemisphere, hey Denise !

  2. Love this poem Adee…

  3. enjoy winter for what it is…every season has its beauty…smiles…
also made me think of game of thrones, because one kingdom
always says “winter is coming” lol

  4. Great writing, adee. Get your vests out, winter draws on. 🙂

  5. Your well chosen words bring the expected, and frequently ignored inevitable to fresh life.
