.
Winter creeps from west to east,
Soundless slippers on its feet,
Borne on the warm west wind
Where I feel traces of chill,
A foretaste of the dense cold air
About to descend blanket-like
Covering us, huddled together
Before the flickering fire.
Friday’s the day, so they say,
And preparations are underway…

Lovely poem bringing in the winter.
Winter has just begun here in Oz, but the temperatures are still too high for a ‘normal’ winter. I’m not complaining though, it’s still better than living in the Northern Hemisphere, hey Denise !

Oh yes Barb, I agree. Our winters are actually mild compared to those in the northern hemisphere – thank goodness!

Although winter is my least favourite, it is great that we have such a variety. Also winter scenery is often astonishingly beautiful!
