Looking through God’s window
At the earth below
Wide-eyed at the beauty
Lost to man’s neglected duty
Sorrow for the morrow
When we’ll have to beg and borrow
Food and drink and air to breathe
Nothing saved ~ we disobeyed
Destroyed our earthly paradise
Right before our very eyes
Care-less, thought-less, heed-less greed
And avarice beset our needs
Is it too late to turn the tide
We have nowhere else to run and hide…

Thanks Jeannie. We cannot save ourselves, we have to rely on God. This poem was a wake-up call, but I doubt that those who need to will read it.

I believe we write for a purpose. Your words are heard and passed on. Have a wonderful day!

Brian the poem was intended as a wake-up call to those who could make a difference. God knows what we are doing to our earth and He has His plans. We must have faith, but also try to do what little we can.

And the pity of the situation is the pity it creates! When I was a child, I use to think that it rains because God cries for us. I think I have realized now that God cries because of us; for our petty greed and selfishness. Thanks for sharing a thought provoking poem, it comes straight from the heart 🙂
