I write what I feel…

Trying to make sense of a cockeyed world

His chip grew into a brick, into a rock

And his outlook became skewed

As he slewed his view to compensate

While I sailed on by feigning happiness

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people!

  1. What a powerful and dignified poem! “His chip grew into a brick, into a rock” is stunningly strong and real, I could feel its weight. Very well done, dear! Very well done!

  2. One feels somehow that there may well be more to this tale than is related here. 🙂

  3. The human condition encapsulated.

  4. hmm you leave me wondering about his one just a bit…
feigned happiness is not real happiness…and neither is trying to make fit
    what wont…

  5. Banish baggage – sail swiftly. Well writ.
