I write what I feel…

Life, Death and Honeymoons

Thirteen days to go

But already tiny leaves appear

Barely visible to our naked eye

Stating ‘Spring is almost here’.

Life springs from dead stalks,

Only one of His miracles each year,

But some of us are blinded

By false ideas of wealth

And life counts for naught

Compared to untold things on earth.

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

  2. “Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

  3. Blinded, indeed. Not, as you may recall, that spring is the best of the seasons on the KZN coast.

  4. it is great to see those first few peaks of spring…soon enough…soon enough…smiles.

  5. false ideas of wealth…I love that!

  6. Your coming spring, means our coming fall. I love spring and fall.. just not winter cold and snow.
