.
I lost myself in the ways of the world,
I stumbled and fell in the mire,
But the Lord saw me fall
And He reached out his hand,
Said, I understand,
It is easy for you to do,
Just keep your eyes on the cross
At the top of the hill
Where the road runs straight and true,
If you falter and fall, you must pick yourself up,
If you stray on the way, call on Me
For I will be there – My love will set you free.

keeping our eyes on that cross and staying out of the quagmire of the world is def not the easiest thing to do…one of my life verses is Romans 12:1-2

Thanks for your comment Brian. Not easy at all – part of being ‘human’ and having free will… God’s way of testing us I think.

Denise, it is a long time since I appears here, but just a short visit. I have now made a short book of my poems – about 95 of them, so I have been busy rather than creative!
Perhaps I will get some new inspiration. I love your poem. It strikes a chord in me, who am always in need of forgiveness, and have always to pick myself up and start over again.
Thank you. John

You have made my day John! Thanks so much for your comment. Congratulations on your book. I’ll keep an eye out (stupid expression, lol, but very apt!) for it. We all fall/fail from time to time. Hoping to see you here on the blogs again soon. I trust all is well. I seem to be in a bit of a rut lately so have started writing children’s short stories for, I think. the education dept. I have submitted two so far and was told it would take +- 8 weeks before I hear. I am busy on my third. A change is as good as a holiday, or so they say!
