In case you didn’t know

Post No. 864

In case you didn’t know

.

We are at WAR

In the fight for our very souls ~

Don’t you see our apathy

While evil destroys the world.

.

Jesus shed his blood for us,

Stands with us through thick and thin,

His love is our salvation,

The least we can do is honour Him,

Spread His word to save the world ~

.

Jesus lights the way,

Decoys are but evil’s ploy,

Tricks to lure us from the straight and narrow,

Silver and gold are bogus treasure.

.

But does man’s greed let him take heed,

Allow him to act before it is too late,

Or will he blindly forget

That the wages of sin is death?

Chaos Subdued

Post No. 863

.

Chaos Subdued

.

Our world is in chaos

Confusion reigns

Where there was order

All is in disarray

Like a rash of pustules

Erupts around a volcano

Small boils burst

Peace gives (s)way to turmoil

And God is lost

In the fear and horror

As man becomes a warrior

In the war against himself

Army of the Lord

Post No. 862

.

Army of the Lord

.

Mine eyes have seen the glory
of the coming of the lord,
He is trampling out the vintage
where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He hath loosed the fateful lightning
of His terrible swift sword,
His truth is marching on

Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on

Is our life on earth a proving ground

For the fight between good and evil

We cannot doubt that God will win

Because all else depends on Him:

He is the Creator of the universe.

But is mankind ready, willing and able

To take a stand, seemingly against all odds,

To join His army and defeat the evil

Dwelling and swelling in its task

To take control of mankind’s heart.

Once

Post No. 861

.

Once

.

Once there was a time

A time no word would rhyme

A time when I died inside

Once there was a time

.

But it was true what they said

The cog locked, the wheel turned

The sun burned once more in the sky

Once there was a time

.

Words tripped and fell

My head was too full

As they tried and tried

To climb out of my skull

Once there was a time

Praise for Grace

Post No. 859

.

Praise for Grace

.

Traversing the dark tunnel of life

I came face to face with Your grace,

Washed clean by Jesus’ blood

Of the new covenant,

Filled with the Holy Spirit

And cloaked by the light of Your love.

Praise God our heavenly Father,

Lord and King of all things:

Hallelujah, Lord of lords!

Hallelujah, King of kings!

Amen

Soul Matters

Post No. 858

.

Soul Matters

.

From when we are born we begin to die

This is a fact no-one can deny

This earthly husk starts to decay

Over which we have little sway

But spirit is eternal, a part of God

A treasure we hold gently in our hearts

We can ignore, pretend not to hear

His call for us to understand

As He reaches out His helping hand

To feed and nurture this link to Him

To bind us, hold us and enfold us

That when the turmoil of this world is done

We may be together all as One.

That Flying Feeling

Post No. 857

That Flying Feeling

.

About a thousand years ago

as a child running wild,

we used to ride our bikes

for miles and miles

through the countryside

and down to the ocean wide!

What freedom was this

that today’s children all miss,

no such thing as congestion

of traffic or lungs

(not to mention crime where now

life is worth less than a dime),

we would trudge up hill

and soar down dale

for all the world like an eagle on wings

swooping low and sweeping high

shouting for the wind to carry

our voices up to God in the sky,

oh to feel again the joy we felt,

the immensity of our world and

the freedom to have fun in the sun!

Pasture

Post No. 856

.

Pasture

.

Useful up to a point

Then put out to pasture

Abandoned or sold for scrap

Rain-rusted tortured rotting

Buried in landfills or graves

Off with the old and on with the new

The motto of today implies

There’s a never-ending supply

Easy come easy go

Animal vegetable or mineral

Thirty pieces of silver should

Hold off the sheriff for a while…

.
