Sweet Waters

Sweet Waters

Let Your sweet waters wash over me

Cleansingly, refreshingly,

Rinsing life’s dust and grime away,

Soothing me through yet another day.

Father bathe me in Your light

Holding back the darkest night,

Help me shine for those I love

A sign, a signal from up above.

Celebrating the Dawn

Celebrating the Dawn

Before the first rays of the sun,
Sensing the coming of the dawn,
The hadedas arrive en masse
Shouting ha, ha, haa for all to hear,
Just like children going out to play
At the start of a holiday!

Catfight at Sunrise

Fight or flight

Cornered with no escape

Make or break

Either way he’s done

With a YOWL and a grOWL

They leap into the attack

Never turning their back

Without a pause

Fur flies like large snowflakes

White, bright, like a pillow fight

Twirling, whirling feline dervishes

Rolling over and over

I had to intervene

Between protagonist and antagonist

The former strutted off

Tail in the air

While the latter slunk home

To lick his wounds

No real damage done

Birthing, beginning, appearing, occurring,

Rays of light shining bright,

Sparks of perception,

Conception, in the night,

Comprehension, apprehension,

Understanding, awakening, insight

Emotions grow wider, softer

As we age, time spent intent

On introverted expansion,

And other dimensions,

Getting to the kernel of recognition

Of what makes us tick and others tock.

Whispering Waves

The tide is out, rocks exposed, unclothed;

White whispering waves catch the first rays of the sun

As they run back and forth on silken sands.

Pools, left behind between rock spaces,

Shine like mirrors’ smooth faces,

Tranquil, serene…

Softly murmuring swells draw errant curls

Like a magnet into the main mass

And the sun slowly climbs, birthing a new day

While the tide gently turns to wash our steps away

As if we’d never been…

The dawning promise of morning
Where golden arrows streak the sky
And blushing clouds drift on high
Doused in purest gold

Too soon the sun appears
Reaching over the horizon
And the surrounding colours brighten
In a burst of blazing flames

Glorious scenes beyond our dreams
Pleasure and delight our senses
Oh that we could freeze the moment
With each and every small component
