You are my strength in weakness
You are my comfort in sorrow
Yours is the wisdom that I follow
You died on the tree to complete me

Little gods with feet of clay
Under pressure from within
To create as themselves were made
In the image of He who wrought
The beauty of the world displayed
For those whose eyes are opened wide
And whose senses forever sought
To complement the portrait brought
And laid as offering to the only One
Capable of original thought

GOD

God
God is
God is all
Who stands between you and death
Who gives you your last breath
His is the power
He is the Father
Who holds you to His breast
Open your eyes and see
Open your ears and hear
Today you have a second chance
You’re a lucky one –
Some had none
All you must do is believe
Fill your heart with love
For Jesus who died to forgive
And your sin will be gone
Completely overcome
And we will live
For ever

In case you didn’t know
.
We are at WAR
In the fight for our very souls ~
Don’t you see our apathy
While evil destroys the world.
.
Jesus shed his blood for us,
Stands with us through thick and thin,
His love is our salvation,
The least we can do is honour Him,
Spread His word to save the world ~
.
Jesus lights the way,
Decoys are but evil’s ploy,
Tricks to lure us from the straight and narrow,
Silver and gold are bogus treasure.
.
But does man’s greed let him take heed,
Allow him to act before it is too late,
Or will he blindly forget
That the wages of sin is death?

Dying

Not a handful of leaves
Remain on the trees
Holding fast to the past
Fearing the unknown
Mystery of death

Sleepy
.
Head back, I dozed, eyes closed,
Sun and shade played
On translucent eyelids
Barely visible
Felt, rather than seen
Thru the screen of lashes
Resting on my cheek.
Dust motes dance
Up and down a shaft of light
Then, as it fades,
They too vanish from sight.

The Fabric of Life
.
Weaving, the warp and the weft
Creating patterns and designs,
Tapestries reflecting the twists and turns
From birth on the path towards death.

Living in the past
Leaves no room for the present
Just marking time on the spot
Until death overtakes
Overwhelms us like a wave
In the ocean of life

The whole world is at war
the cost too high to-tally
time is everything and nothing
our future so unsure
as petty thieves make hay
even in the pouring rain
We rise today but what of tomorrow
random names on bullets
not to mention hit lists
deflection changes direction
and the pathway is clear
for everyone to fear
Senseless shooting for a phone
(is it worth a living being)
so much crime that cops can’t see
the forest for the single trees
when it threatens all generations
death can cause such devastation

Gravity is grounded
As solemn as the grave,
Firmly bound, without a sound
Seriously unfounded,
Soaking up the sun-light
My mind took flight
Up, up on the warm air currents,
As high as the birds in the sky,
Higher still to the clouds;
I could see myself sitting on the chair
Dozing in the warm air
But, looking upward into the blue
I fancied I saw too
A tiny dot all alone
Small as a pin
