Perfection

Post No. 902

Perfection

.

We cannot conceive,

Are unable to perceive,

His perfection…

As His spirit fills our souls

And His inspiration fuels our goals,

We are humbled before Him ~

Our King;

Father of the universe,

The revelation of whose love

Holds us in awe, spell-bound,

Wanting nothing more

Than to praise and adore

Our Lord.

Sunshine in the Valley

Post No. 876

Sunshine in the Valley

.

Let the sun shine in the valley

Chase the shadows far far away

It breaks my heart to see you suffer

It breaks my heart to see your pain

.

If i could turn the clocks around

And let the cogs themselves unwind

Return once more to yesteryear

Firmly anchored ‘gainst the wind

.

Father God there’s only You

Shielding us from desolation

Preserving us from devastation

With you on our side we must abide

Beware

Post No. 851

Beware

.

Beware of evil, be aware

Hold yourself apart

Learn to follow your heart

Evil comes in many guises

Various dis-guises to tempt

Holds you in contempt

And you are not exempt

Only our Father has the strength

And the power to protect you

to an infinite extent

Miracles

Post No. 841

Miracles

.

Our father,

maker, creator, designer and inventor

of gigantic mountains, valleys,

wastelands and seas

from the macro to the micro

and everything between

you possess the marvels and miracles

to do what e’er you please

i hear your voice calling me

across rugged mountain ranges

across the stormy sea

over the desert sands of time

through the never-ending vastness of space

calling, calling to the human race

i have countless questions to ask when at last we meet

is it only on a whim that you cause the earth to quake

is it simply on an impulse that the world begins to shake

and what is it that enables you to choose

which peoples are to win and which to lose

difficult to answer for someone such as me

but you o lord are able to see

right inside the human heart

and take it all apart

Talents

.

We came to earth

born naked, helpless,

only our parents, carers,

to keep us alive,

to help us survive,

but He gave us gifts

as the wise men from the east

brought to the newborn Babe,

talents to aid our journey

as we travel through

this life and onward

to return to our Father.

Higher Ground

.

O God, take us by the hand,

Father, lead us to the promised land

And help us to understand.

The advent of Your coming is close ~

Far closer than we tend to think ~

Help us repair to higher ground

As we did in days of old

Where the bible was the only book

Found in almost every home

And Your Word was law.

Birdsong

.

I think there’s a link between the sunrise
and the blue skies and the birds’ cries.
When I lie in bed I can hear when the sky is clear…
The raucous cries of the larger birds tear me from my sleep,
while the smaller chirps and cheeps try their hardest to compete ~
all this in the darkest night before the sun even shows himself awake ~
but I know, I can tell, a beautiful day awaits.

In the same way, when the birdsong is muted
and the screams have lost their harshness,
I know, I can feel, that a gentle day is in the offing,
perhaps with showers and a softening in the air.

How can any deny our Father when the proof is always there
and nature sings His praises for all the world to hear?
Are we ‘accidental’ beings and our world a chance MIS-take?
It’s preposterous to think that this could be the case!

Father forgive us

~

Father forgive us

We are destroying, and have destroyed

Eco systems which make life possible on earth

We have taken your gifts for granted

With no thought for tomorrow

We have enjoyed the abundance

Of the fruits of the earth

With selfishness, lack of consideration

Lack of forethought

And made assumptions

That the earth would sustain us forever

Father God we humble ourselves before you

In deepest humility

We beg your forgiveness

Please instill in us the will

To repair that which we have broken

To renew that which we have used

Asking only that you inspire us with your wisdom

To put things right

~
