I write what I feel…

I heard Him call my name
And I joined in while the
Whole world sang his praise
From the east to the west
From the north to the south
In the earth and sky and sea
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
Blessed be He who rules

Open your eyes and see
Open your ears and hear
Open your heart and feel
His love for us is real

Voices surround us,

Some loud and clear,

Some so soft you can barely hear,

As nature speaks

From mountain peaks,

From lakes and seas,

From plants and trees,

From birds and bees…

If you open your heart

You will surely hear

All things from earth

To the heavens above

Speaking to us in the language of love.

God Lives

God lives in the very heart of man,

In each and every part of man,

He knows our views and deeds

Even as we think or act,

He is the kernel of our being,

The epicentre of our soul,

And in our lives he plays a role

Just because He loves us all

And we ignore him at our peril.

These are the Things…

An act of kindness,
a smiling face,
a baby bird,
God’s bountiful grace,
a new-born foal
finding its feet,
helping another
to cross the street,
healing rain
on my skin,
the joy and peace
I feel within,
the sun’s rays
shining through the trees,
cool misty mornings
with a crisp breeze…

these are the things that make my soul sing ~

these are the things that make life fulfilling.

Praise Our Father

A poet weaves his words…
A painter blends his shades…
To praise the wonder of God.
Impossible to say… impossible to do…
We cannot even begin to envision
His glorious be-ing.
We are as no-thing
Comparing brain to brain,
Heart to heart, or
Soul to soul.
He is all.
We are as the blind who read without eyes;
Or the deaf who hear without ears;
Or the lame who run in their dreams.
We know our Father loves his children –
Whatever infirmities they may have –
And we should have faith and return His love
A hundred thousand fold.

Spring Cleaning

The warm winds blow
(sometimes with a hint of ice –
tail-end of winter’s cold),
ruffling the leaves
on the evergreen trees,
dusting the bare branches
of the unclad.

Dust rises in great swirls,
reddish and coarse,
echoes of the ground beneath
where it settles once again,
providing succour to the roots
whence it came.

Seasons’ circles,
cycles interwoven,
life and death
to the eye,
but the soul
will never die.

Without Love

We’ll never get to heaven
Without love
All the monies spent
Don’t even make a dent
Without love

We’re cut from a different design
Originals all
Each had an umbilical cord
Was tied to mom’s apron strings
Followed by dad’s purse strings

Then our heart strings lead us
Towards the Ideal
A Model to emulate, to imitate
But we can’t buy our way to heaven
Without love

Birthing, beginning, appearing, occurring,

Rays of light shining bright,

Sparks of perception,

Conception, in the night,

Comprehension, apprehension,

Understanding, awakening, insight

Emotions grow wider, softer

As we age, time spent intent

On introverted expansion,

And other dimensions,

Getting to the kernel of recognition

Of what makes us tick and others tock.
