The beauty of the world displayed
For those whose eyes are opened wide
And whose senses forever sought
To complement the portrait brought
And laid as offering to the only One

Escaping the Abyss
,
A bottomless pit
Is where I’m at
A deep well leading down to hell
I claw feverishly at the wall
And cry for help with a soundless voice
Bounded by silence
Black as pitch, absorbent hush
Rain runs barefoot down my neck
Soothing all pain along my back
I feel fingers reach down my arm
Leading me, guiding me
Upward, onward, safely
Far, far away from harm

Nightmare
.
Life blood leaks down the walls
Black shadows crowd in the halls
The old house shivers and shakes
While dark memories keep him awake
Memories that won’t go to bed
Memories that crowd in his head
Troubled, constantly whirling
Tossing and turning
Seeking escape from his thoughts
As the night drags slowly
Tick by tick and tock by tock
And the sun lags lazily behind the clock

Perfection

We cannot conceive,
Are unable to perceive,
His perfection…
As His spirit fills our souls
And His inspiration fuels our goals,
We are humbled before Him ~
Our King;
Father of the universe,
The revelation of whose love
Holds us in awe, spell-bound,
Wanting nothing more
Than to praise and adore
Our Lord.

GOD revealed
.
The decision was always His to make
The steps were ever His to take
And Jesus Christ was born of man
God revealed in His own plan
In flesh and blood he could relate
He gave His all for love of us
Suffering torment on the cross
He was no figment to still man’s need
Of a saving grace or creed
But the unadorned and newborn babe
Come to earth to conquer death
Hail to Thee O King of kings
All hail to Thee O Lord of lords
Our glorious God is now revealed

From the darkness
Into the light
From the blackness
Into the bright
Still his face remained unseen
The God of old
The God of the Jews
The God of the prophets
The great I AM
Yaweh
Who was and is
And is forever more
Amen

God is

Who stands between you and death
Who gives you your last breath
His is the power
He is the Father
Who holds you to His breast
Open your eyes and see
Open your ears and hear
Today you have a second chance
You’re a lucky one –
Some had none
All you must do is believe
Fill your heart with love
For Jesus who died to forgive
And your sin will be gone
Completely overcome
And we will live
For ever
.

A secret space that is a part of me,
In my core, where my spirit lives
Waiting patiently for Your sweet waters
To wash over me, so that I may become
Merged with a part of You.

Pressure
.
We are under pressure
To run the race of life
The here and now comes first
No more living in the past
Take a step back and look
At today: “life in the fast lane”
Actors in masks doing what is asked
Superficiality has no bounds
Insanity reigns in this melee
As all and sundry join the fray
Feelings smothered, masked
As we try to portray the ideals
Thrust on us by those in the know
And we accept without a word
Without a sign of a struggle
Because we all want to be someone else
And pretence leaves emptiness.
