Bees, Bugs and Butterflies

Post No. 916

Bees, Bugs and Butterflies

.

As I watch the sun

Breaking through the clouds,

As I smell the rain

Soaking in the soil,

Dripping from the flowers,

The birds burst into song.

Let the naysayers be wrong;

The world is alive again,

Saved from the brink,

And no matter what we think

God is in His heaven.

Bees buzz,

Shiny beetles eat rose petals

And butterflies flutter by…

O Lord, our Father

Only You can change this earth

From negative to positive

Let us construct not destruct

Advance not retreat

Back and forth and round about

You are our axis

Nothing stands still

This world whirls around your wlll

Open our eyes to realise

We are nothing without You

You are the sun, the moon, the stars

You are creation, and all is in motion

To bring us back to You

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

Post No. 910

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

.

Past, present, future

Shades of lilac and blue

Been and gone

Over and done

History;

The here and now

Unfolding like the wings of the wind

Feathers flying in the breeze

And nature breathes;

Then the mystery of the morrow

(Joy or sorrow) lies before

but God is all we know for sure

Kindness

Post No. 908

Kindness

.

God’s love gives birth to kindness

whose gentle light both soothes and guides us

through the darkness and the mists of life

giving us peace throughout the strife-

torn world about us, holding us safely

on destiny’s path, aiding our ascendency

to our Father’s spiritual home

Little gods with feet of clay

Under pressure from within

To create as themselves were made

In the image of He who wrought

The beauty of the world displayed

For those whose eyes are opened wide

And whose senses forever sought

To complement the portrait brought

And laid as offering to the only One

Capable of original thought

A Short Step into Nature

Post No. 884

.

A Short Step into Nature

.

I pause before the step through Nature’s door

Which threshold invites me not, nor

Does it embrace my breach;

I am a part of nature, not so,

Although my terrain is vastly engineered

Constructed, concocted and contrived

To be utilitarian to say the least ~

Nature kept at long arm’s length

So as not to contaminate the sanitation

Of so-called modern habitation.

Bah, what do ‘they’ know? Naught

Of the truth. Nature holds the cures

For all man’s ills, if man would only

See beyond his limitations,

For the cures lie mainly in his brain.

There was such a variety of birds. I believe this is a lilac breasted roller.
