BLACK MOON

.

BLACK MOON

.

There’s a black moon

Sailing in the sky tonight

Foretelling warnings,

Desolate mo(u)rnings,

As its shadow passes over the land,

Our fatherland, motherland,

Our homeland,

Consuming joy,

Exuding sorrow,

Suffering tomorrow.

Father, bless our land,

Present and future generations,

Bless our Rainbow Nation,

With unity,

With harmony.

A Haiku for my Land

A Haiku for my Land

My wonderful land
With all its different people
Our Rainbow Nation

All living in peace
Together in harmony
United as one

Our love for our land
And our trust in our leaders
Binds us together

But

Our leaders must learn
That they need to earn
Love and respect by proving
Ethics and morality
Openness and honesty
In all their dealings

The Bank

The Bank

A solemn place of business,
And now an optimistic scene
Chatting vis-à-vis the chances
Of the home team.

The sunshine on their faces
And smiles in their eyes,
Hopefulness and buoyancy,
Was such a joy to see.

The game the night before
Had united them in spirit;
The Rainbow Nation had returned
Revived by the sport.
