Sunshine in the Valley

Post No. 876

Sunshine in the Valley

.

Let the sun shine in the valley

Chase the shadows far far away

It breaks my heart to see you suffer

It breaks my heart to see your pain

.

If i could turn the clocks around

And let the cogs themselves unwind

Return once more to yesteryear

Firmly anchored ‘gainst the wind

.

Father God there’s only You

Shielding us from desolation

Preserving us from devastation

With you on our side we must abide

Sunday Afternoon

Post No. 832

Sunday Afternoon

.

Another scone…? Chocolate cake?

Thank you, I don’t mind if I do.

Children playing on the lawn

There for all the world to see

A picture perfect family

Sunshine on my face

But a shadow on my back

Casts its weight

In variegated shades of black

Last Weeks of Summer

.

I know you are loath to go

And I am sad to say farewell,

Let us enjoy our last few weeks

Of sunshine days and balmy nights,

Mozzies with their itching bites,

Coolest clothing every day,

To move unhindered along our way.

Too soon, I feel a bite of ice

In the early morning air,

So pleasant now but, as time

Moves on, ‘twill change

Its nature from a nip to a gnash

Of its icy teeth to send us shivering,

Longing for the warmth so lately gone,

And we must wait through the long,

Cold months until you come again.

Birdsong

.

I think there’s a link between the sunrise
and the blue skies and the birds’ cries.
When I lie in bed I can hear when the sky is clear…
The raucous cries of the larger birds tear me from my sleep,
while the smaller chirps and cheeps try their hardest to compete ~
all this in the darkest night before the sun even shows himself awake ~
but I know, I can tell, a beautiful day awaits.

In the same way, when the birdsong is muted
and the screams have lost their harshness,
I know, I can feel, that a gentle day is in the offing,
perhaps with showers and a softening in the air.

How can any deny our Father when the proof is always there
and nature sings His praises for all the world to hear?
Are we ‘accidental’ beings and our world a chance MIS-take?
It’s preposterous to think that this could be the case!

Sunshine and Shadows

.

Intuition frees the mind

Leaving cognisance behind,

Goes with the flow ~ out the door,

Imagination wanting more;

Hands on or off, no matter,

With the aid of the Creator;

Painting, writing, with a passion

Helped by auras in the ether.
