A Short Step into Nature

Post No. 884

A Short Step into Nature

.

I pause before the step through Nature’s door

Which threshold invites me not, nor

Does it embrace my breach;

I am a part of nature, not so,

Although my terrain is vastly engineered

Constructed, concocted and contrived

To be utilitarian to say the least ~

Nature kept at long arm’s length

So as not to contaminate the sanitation

Of so-called modern habitation.

Bah, what do ‘they’ know? Naught

Of the truth. Nature holds the cures

For all man’s ills, if man would only

See beyond his limitations,

For the cures lie mainly in his brain.

Are We…

.

Are we who we think we are
Or do we change our skin,
Like a chameleon,
In order to fit in and win
The popularity contest,
Mr, Miss or Mrs Cool-hip?

Do we, in fact, hide what’s inside?
Do we show the ‘real me’, the reality?
Or do we only reveal
What we want you to see?
Truth or fiction, perfect diction
Displayed without, but what’s within?

Stripped down to bed-rock
Base core, no more,
Allow us to show our true colours,
Expose ourselves,
In order to clothe ourselves
In authenticity and sincerity.

EYES

.

Burning eyes

Are eyes of anger,

Lowered eyes

Are eyes of shame,

Dancing eyes

Are eyes of mischief

As we all play the game.

.

We search each other’s eyes

To distinguish fact from lies.

Lips don’t always tell the truth

(And you’re the living proof),

But your wide,

Innocent eyes

Convinced me otherwise.

.

Burning eyes

Are eyes of anger,

Lowered eyes

Are eyes of shame,

Dancing eyes

Are eyes of mischief

As we all play the game.

The Spin Doctor

The Spin Doctor

Truth is lies and lies are truth
And never the twain shall meet –
Except in the doctor’s spin machine,
An instrument of great deceit.

Put in some black and add some white,
The mixer blends them well,
Until it’s hard to tell them apart
And know what’s what at all.

An easy way to attain success:
Combine the facts with fiction.
The product of this simple act:
A most poisonous concoction.
