Fragrant memories bloom

In the garden of my mind

Their bitter-sweet perfume

Overtaking from behind

C’est la vie

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

    • Nein, Cindy. X-rays next Monday then, hopefully, they will remove this contraption on my leg, but I will be staying on because I willl be back to square one with starting to walk all over again. Also have put my name down for a cottage here and my house is up for sale. No going back, I’m afraid, and no choice.

  7. Denise! What a lovely picture. I love pictures.
And how apt and refreshing your poem is, too.
    A nice experience altogether.

    • Thanks for liking my poem, John. I love the picture too. I actually love browsing pictures and could do so much more often. At the moment I am limited to just finding illustrations as fast as I can on my very limited gigs!

  8. Gorgeous!

You said so much in so few words . . . capturing your thoughts with perfection!
The painting adds the right emphasis to the reflection. Wonderful.
