Sunshine in the Valley

Post No. 876

.

Sunshine in the Valley

.

Let the sun shine in the valley

Chase the shadows far far away

It breaks my heart to see you suffer

It breaks my heart to see your pain

.

If i could turn the clocks around

And let the cogs themselves unwind

Return once more to yesteryear

Firmly anchored ‘gainst the wind

.

Father God there’s only You

Shielding us from desolation

Preserving us from devastation

With you on our side we must abide

Dark Valley

Post No. 835

.

Dark Valley

.

The sun shines brightly

On surrounding mountain tops

While down in the valley

Mist swirls patterns emerge

And darkness rules

.

Shards of pain pierce again

And again while lightning flashes

Thunder resounds from outcrops

As rocks parade their metallic

Makeup content as backdrops

.

To the display of higher power

Oh to rise high in the skies

Rest in the warmth of the Son

Away from the doom and gloom

And the worries of the world

Burned

.

Adulation warped his image:

Mirror-perfect it seemed to him,

He was bigger than all,

Better than all,

Even the law.

But pride goes before a fall.

He flew too close to the sun

Like Icarus of old, and

Despite all his gold

He was consumed

By the flames of his own

Imperfection.

The Promise

.

The mares of night

Thunder ‘cross the skies,

Thousand volts lightning bolts

At their heels;

Clouds light up

Faces of the dead

And the chandelier falls to the ground

Without a sound.

Bedlam rules the world

While Hope hides away

Waiting for the day,

For the sun to rise

In the eastern skies

And wash our souls…

Time is running out ~

Running-running-running ~

Racing towards the new world.

Heatwave

.

Mornings of mist and mystery

Before the sun awakes,

Slakes his unending thirst,

Drinking the last drops of dew

And sucking dry the clouds

Hanging pregnant in the sky.

Midsummer days…

Breathless pulsating heat

Throbbing through the air,

Life-draining lethargy,

Absolutely no energy…

An artificial atmosphere

Feeding pre-cooled air

Satisfies the well-heeled,

But cold showers are best

For the rest…

Expressions
.

I love to watch and see

The expressions in the sky

From the wond’rous beauty of the sunrise,

Hear the morning chorus sing,

To the peace and calm of evening

As the twitters fade and die;

The sun descends from heaven

And takes with him the light

So we can sleep at peace

Throughout the night.

Our Journey

.

A gruelling journey

Over mountain crags,

Steep cliffs, wide clefts,

Waters-falling, echoes calling,

In sun and rain, arduous terrain,

Boulders, rocks, and stones,

A TAXing, TIRing test

Demanding our very best

To culminate in sucCESS.

If it were easy, stress-free,

Our victory would be worth-less.
