~~
When your gut is tight with fear
Remember to say a prayer
Because God is always near
And you can be sure that He will hear
~~
You are a magnet
Attracting the things you dread
Drawing them ever closer
Like a horseshoe enticing lead*
~~
God will protect us
He will never reject us
And the pathway to God is Love
We must clear the road for His light
Open our hearts to Him
Feel his love come pouring in
~~

Hi empressalice, I wrote the poem then thought I’d better check. There are a number of sites saying the same thing as above. So I had to believe them. Anyway thanks for liking my poem. Btw I do absolutely believe we attract the things we fear that that’s why we must get rid of our fear and replace it with faith as the reader below also agrees. Go well and thanks for the visit.

So true Denise… I thought that about the lead, but realized that it was poetic Lic.
Your words are wonderful and remind me of an old saying.
Fear knocked at the door
Faith opened it
And there was no one there…
Praise the Lord!

Lovely Denise. I wanted to add:
God’s love comes to us
directly and through others
Straight into our hearts
and through sisters and through brothers
Open up to all
to receive the love
and open out again
to pass it on to others
Thanks for the inspiration

Gulfstream horse racing park is just 2 miles north of where I live.
Those horseshoes attract the money in my wallet. Racehorses
have horseshoes mad of aluminum not iron. Lighter.

Many more things are being made of aluminium each day, Carl. Light and hardwearing too. Sorry about your money, lol. You need some aversion therapy…

Denise,
Comparing fear to magnet is very good. The more one is afraid, the more one becomes magnetic that way. And prayer is demagnifying the same way.
I think the last line of stanza 2 should read “like a horseshoe enticing lead” for symmetry sake.

Thank you, Sunamu. I have found that in my own life…
Thank you for pointing that out for me. You are quite right. I have been waaay below par the last few days and consequently I’ve been editing back and forth on a couple of my posts – sign of a confused mind, hahaha. Thank goodness I am much better and able to eat a little this evening.

Just when I need to see something, bloggers (and God) don’t let me down. Thank you for writing something I needed to see today, Denise. I love the comparison of fear and a magnet.
