Caught Up by Life
Living in a world of words
Dizzying whizzing as I lie in bed
While they whirl around my head
A carousel, a wishing well
A spelling bee buzzes in and out
Playing catch-me-if-you-can
Can, can, can, all the rage
With dancers on a Paris stage
Memories are all we have
Smoke and mirrors reflecting
Deflecting through the glass
Champagne bubbles while we try
To read the answers in our eyes
But time has been and gone
Too late to question were we right
Or were we wrong…

THE SHADOW OF THE PAST
Those frozen moments
Will follow us until we
Forgive and forget

“What if” is a worthless phrase
for to question what has passed, delays
decisions on a coming day
when ’tis fate, which has the final say.
