I write what I feel…

The Path

My heart is rapt in the warmth of Your love

And Your light shines steady upon the path

But the devil’s name is Evil

He sets his snares here, there, everywhere

Devious detours, deviations

Heady scents of temptations

Powerful images and sensations

All things craven in this world of Satan

Almost irresistible; help me stay incorruptible

Keep me safe, give me faith

To follow in the light of Your love

  3. Devil gives meaning to word insidious

  4. nice…reads like a prayer on avoiding temptation….and nice use of rapt…smiles…it is a fun word….watch out for those snares adee…

  5. There are many forks in the pathway of life, and most have been well-traveled,
the trick is to take the right one, just before it all unravels…

  6. Amen. Beautiful prayer. Hope Dad manages to see this, Denise – I may mail it to him. He’s on an iPad right now and isn’t able to follow blogs so easily.

  7. There are many ‘pulls’ in love.. so safety is a gift.

  8. Kate’s hunch was right Denise. I did find my way here on her iPad!
I think this poem expresses the core of human weakness. Thank God we have a protector, even when we fail
Loved this from beginning it end

    • It is good to have daughters with the latest contraptions isn’t it, John. My daughter visited yesterday and put some CDs on to my laptop as I had struggled to put them on in the format that I preferred. Thanks for keeping in touch. Much love to you and to June. I look forward to hearing that she is home again!

      Glad you liked the poem.

  9. The Devil is alive and well all right. Tempting us, deriding us. But for now, the light still shines. Great poem, Adee.

    • Sometimes it is hard to see the wood for the trees, Selma… We just have to trust that He will light up the right path for us to follow! I’m glad you liked the poem.

  10. Lovely read – thank you!

  11. This is beautiful. I particularly liked these words, “He sets his snares here, there, everywhere… Devious detours, deviations”. So true. Indeed, not every shortcut and opportunity is of God. The devil is quite a force to reckon with on this planet. Powerless, but subtle and really tricky.

Thanks for expressing yourself Adee. Quite a blessing.
