Bedlam, Babel, babble…
Rabble-rousers looking for trouble,
Each the centre of his own awareness;
Does the whole world revolve around us,
Are we the centre of our universe?
Some are leaders, teachers, cheaters,
More are followers, fans, defenders;
Most are in some or other way
Pretenders.

Harsh but sadly true, we are each the centre of our own universe

Unfortunately it is true, that’s what this world has made of us, Sidey.

You are so very right.
All the different types – odds and ends, fine and rough – help make up the tapestry.

And such a tapestry! So intricate, beyond our comprehension, Eric.

It’s human nature to be the center of my universe. I don’t have a problem with this so long as it’s not to the exclusion of others, so long as I’m there when friends and family need me. Let there be love…

Yes, Denise. Maybe we have to blame the Bigbang. This trait, I suppose, is ingrained in the very grains we are made up of… a consequence of that unrestrained selfishness for amassing whatever was in reach. See, the whole universe is scatered with self centred masses freely revolving about themselves. There is no room for stoics. Ha! Ha! Kidding.
You are so right.

Pretenders? Or are we, as Shakespeare wrote, (paraphrased) ‘All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women, merely actors…’? A very thought provoking piece Denise thanks.
