I write what I feel…

Dancer in the Mist

* Edited

A study in greys, the lake and the trees,

She appeared in the haze, swirls of mist in the breeze,

A phantom, unreal, like a dream, a part of the scene.

She danced and entranced as, gliding gracefully,

She drew closer and closer with each sweep

Of her feet, until gradually she stopped

Within reach of his arms, outstretched to touch

This vision of beauty. But she wasn’t there –

Naught but the cold damp air.

  1. Denise, the last time I heard a story like that, she chucked a big sword out of the lake (Mort d’Arthur)

  2. A likely story, adee, but I could almost see her too. 🙂

  3. oh…her not even being there…is she a dream or memory…either one stings just a bit…

  4. Quite haunting, adee. Loved it.

  5. Mist erious and un fog gettable!
    Seriously, a fascinating piece.

  6. This is great, Denise. A ghost in the fog. Now that’s a story which could have lots of mysterious conclusions.

  7. Nice, vivid – I could see her… and then, nothing
