I write what I feel…

Shades and Shadows

Shades of green

and shades of blue

Shades of lies

and shades of truth

God draws the lines

between the two

.

Man empowers

them to blur

Casts his shadow

to block the view

Then claims he cannot

discern what’s true

I am a middle-aged South African woman, living in Johannesburg. I began writing poetry towards the end of May 2010. I love animals – sometimes more than people! I am back after a break. Thanks for still being here, if you are! Missed you! xxx

  1. Well said Denise.

A shade of lie glistens white and a shade of truth is black amongst white lies.

  2. Thanks, Sunamu. We do fudge the lines and make it more difficult to see…

  3. “The one and only difference,
between the fib and the lie,
is by whom that it was uttered,
    your lying self, or I.”
I hope you don’t mind too much, me quoting myself..
