.
I would say, with skies of grey,
This is our coldest winter’s day.
The skies of blue have blown away
And the cold, I fear, is here to stay.
.
Sulky clouds hang overhead,
Frowning at those still abed.
The damp wind breathes its frosty breath,
As cold as ice, as cold as death.
.
We huddle in our warmest coats,
We wrap our scarves around our throats,
We glove our hands and sock our feet,
We cap our crowns, oh so discrete,
Before we head into the street.
.

Life is just funny that way. I’ll be grilling some burgers outside later for dinner. And if it cools down I will eat on my balcony and enjoy the river flowinng past.
Snuggle up and stay warm.

Yes, there is a world of difference between your cold and ours. Took me a while to get acclimatised, lol!

Far too many times the whole troubled world seems like this.

That’s true, Carl, but don’t forget things don’t stay the same for long… that’s what is so wonderful about our world! Today I have Nat King Cole playing in my head!

Col, there’s a ‘world of difference between your cold and ours’ (see my reply to AD) AND you are both on the coast too which also helps keep you guys warm… I think you need a few days inland, lol, to help you appreciate your climate.

In the south perhaps, but nothing special in our corner of the country, I’m afraid. We did have one good week in June, but that’s about it. There is still no “Notify me of follow-up comments via email.” box on my comments, I’m afraid. Can it be fixed? (Of course, I won’t see your reply to this comment either unless I remember to come looking for it. 😦

I will check my settings again, Ben. I remember looking some time ago and couldn’t find anything. But WPress is changing all the time. For the last while I have had problems logging in and have often had to try up to 3 times before I was successful. Yesterday, I noticed that my posts don’t appear on Fb any longer and had to rectify that! 🙂

Oh Denise!
I can remember a few months ago we were suffering in the cold and wet, while you were celebrating spring and flowers. What an amazing thing the seasons are.
Pecker up, Denise!

Yes, Brian, but weather-wise most of us are hard to satisfy… too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry… we really are difficult to please. 😉
